We would like to inform you that from now onwards Central Ground Water Authority has started issuing NOC to those units that don’t have access to the GIDC water supply and need to extract water from the bore well and started legalizing the thing for bore well water users.
A notification was issued on 24th September 2020 in which the provisions have been made for the penalty to those units who are extracting water without obtaining the CGWA NOC.
CGWA shall not permit any new bore well after 24th Sept 2020 in case of existing bore well industry can apply and in that case, the industry shall have to pay Rs. 1, 00,000 as a penalty of bore well and another Environment Damage Charges (No of Days from 24th Sept 2020 to the date you apply for CGWA NOC * ECRGW Rs. / KL of your water consumption).
A Public Notice was issued on 17th June 2021 in which the government has made special provisions that if you apply for obtaining CGWA NOC before 31/03/2022 unit shall not have to pay Environment Compensation Charges (which are in lakhs as per the water consumption and in some cases even crores) and if you have applied earlier and your NOC was rejected due to any reason you can apply and obtain the permission without penalty and Environment Compensation.
So we would recommend that this is the best time to apply for CGWA NOC and obtain permission to avoid future issues and be a part of the system if there are bore well present in your premises.

Note: From now onwards when your unit shall apply for CCA Renewal the GPCB shall ask for the source of water and any source other than GIDC Water Supply and Bore well with CGWA Permission shall be considered illegal and the CCA shall not be obtained.
